Calmly Drifting Glacial Ice

The paintings ‘Fractured Majesty, Calving Ice at Sólheimajökull Glacier’ and ‘Calmly Drifting Glacial Ice’ are responses to my previous expeditions to explore Mýrdalsjökull and the Sólheimajökull Glacier tongue in quite cold, though sharp and clear weather. Here, I am reflecting on the proud, calved forms I observed within my sketchbooks studies whilst being fully aware of the glacier’s rapid retreat.
